Anne W. Mabbitt was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After high school, Anne attended Alma College, following the footsteps of her maternal grandparents, parents, and brother. She majored in English and History and was an article writer for the college newspaper, The Almanian.

After graduation, Anne worked in the banking industry for several years before beginning law school at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she graduated cum laude. There, she served as the Assistant Articles Editor and a Managing Associate Editor for the Law Review. Anne was the 2006 recipient of the Eugene Krasicky Award for her contributions to the Law Review.

Anne worked for an insurance defense firm in Cascade prior to joining Hackney Grover. Anne focuses her practice on general and complex litigation matters, including insurance defense litigation, professional liability, and products liability.
