John P. Lewis graduated in 1990 from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1993, graduating summa cum laude.
Mr. Lewis is admitted to practice in the United States Eastern and Western District Courts of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the State Bar of Nevada. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and Grand Rapids Bar Association.
At Hackney Grover, Mr. Lewis practices Medical Malpractice Defense Litigation, No-Fault Litigation, Insurance Claims & Coverage, General Liability Insurance Litigation, and Appellate Practice.
Prior to joining our team, John was a litigation attorney with Cholette, Perkins & Buchanan, P.C. (1995-1997); and a Judicial Clerk to Chief Justice Michael F. Cavanagh, Michigan Supreme Court (1993-1995).
John was a Member of the Board of Editors for the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. He graduated first in a class of 181, and received the David Martin Scholarship and James E. Burns Scholarship. He was awarded nine American Jurisprudence Awards for scholastic achievement. He is also a frequent seminar speaker on No-Fault and general liability issues.
